چکیده

Introduction: Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries are among the most common of knee and often require reconstruction. The etiology molecular mechanisms rupture anterior is poorly understood, many external internal factors have been associated with it, including genetics. This study aimed to investigate association sequence variants in ELN FMOD candidate genes ACL ruptures based on essential biological functions these two proteoglycan-encoding maintaining structural integrity tissues regulating fibrillogenesis. Material Methods: partici-pants consisted 229 (164 male 65 female) individuals a surgically diagnosed rup-ture (ACLR) who qualified for reconstruction 192 (107 85 healthy participants no history injury (CON group). All ACLR group sustained through non-contact mechanisms. chi-square tests were used analysis rs2071307 rs7543148 between control (CON) group. Results: It follows from that tested athletes shows statistically significantly more frequent AA genotype gene polymorphism than However, looking at gender, one can observe frequent. In gene, rarer TT was observed compared and, similarly previous polymorphism, less males com-pared Conclusions: Genetic research sports, especially concerning connected characteristic polymorphic selected genes, justified, particularly as regards gender-homogenous groups.

Genetic Variants and Anterior Cruciate Ligament Rupture: A Systematic Review

BACKGROUND Studies have shown a familial predisposition for anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) rupture and have been followed by genetic-association studies on polymorphisms in candidate genes in recent years. To date, no systematic review with a best-evidence synthesis has evaluated the influence of genetics on this devastating knee injury. OBJECTIVE Our objective was to evaluate the associati...

Anterior Cruciate Ligament Rupture

The number of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries among young athletes has increased over the past 2 decades. It is currently estimated that 47 per 100,000 boys aged 10 to 19 years will require surgery for an ACL injury each year. Apart from the immediate debilitating effects, there are serious long-term consequences of ACL injuries, including chronic knee instability, cartilage damage, a...

Anterior Cruciate Ligament Rupture and Osteoarthritis Progression

Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) rupture is a common sporting injury that frequently affects young, athletic patients. Apart from the functional problems of instability, patients with ACL deficient knees also develop osteoarthritis. Although this is frequently cited as an indication for ACL reconstruction, the relationship between ACL rupture, reconstruction and the instigation and progression ...

Essentials of anterior cruciate ligament rupture management.

Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) rupture is a common knee injury and an understanding of current medical knowledge regarding its management is essential. Accurate and prompt diagnosis requires an awareness of injury mechanisms and risk factors, common symptoms and physical/radiologic findings. Early mobilization and physical therapy improves outcomes regardless of treatment modality. Many older...
